Stuck in a slump? Time to come out

The economy has taken a toll on many people not only financially but physically and emotionally. Attempting to overcome an economic break can cause stress, anguish, and in some cases depression. Even though the recession technically is finished, the economy is not fully recovered. I have found excellent quotes from the mouths of scholars and other high profile people that are encouraging and give people a glimpse of hope. Just because the tunnel is still dark doesn’t mean we have strayed from the light. With patience (and not to mention time) that light will shine oh so brightly before our own eyes. Sometimes we must take a few steps backwards in order to move 10 steps forward.

There is always room at the top. – Daniel Webster

Along with success comes a reputation for wisdom. – Euripides

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude. – Thomas Jefferson

The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen. – Frank Loyd Wright

Success is sweet: the sweeter if long delayed and attained through manifold struggles and defeats. – A. Branson Alcott

I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure–which is: Try to please everybody. – Herbert Bayard Swope

If you wish success in life, make perseverance your bosom friend, experience your wise counselor, caution your elder brother, and hope your guardian genius. – Jospeph Addison

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack in will. – Vince Lombardi

There have been numerous reports that indicate individuals born into low socio-economic backgrounds tend to remain so even throughout adulthood. This statistics applies heavily towards the minority population in comparison to their Caucasian counterparts. Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, offers insight for those who want guidance to avoid falling into that trap.
