John Travolta has singed on to play the legendary John Gotti, the leader of the Gambino crime family in New York, in the new highly anticipated Fiore Film. The biopic is set to start filming this October in New York City and will be directed by Nick Cassavetes who is credited with “The Notebook”. The news was officially released yesterday at a press conference in NYC where our the “milkaholic” Lindsay Lohan showed up posing for pictures with Victoria Gotti. LiLo has not been officially signed to the biopic but rumor has it that Victoria asked if the star would play her. Travolta will be playing the late John Gotti Sr with Joe Pesci as Angelo Ruggiero Gotti’s right hand man.
John Gotti Jr., who sold the rights to this film, spoke at the press conference saying “In this script, everybody’s a victim, and you’ll see it”. Is Jr saying that his father was a victim in all of this? I hope that the movie turns out better than the press conference did and the reports written from the press that attended. I know that John Travolta is use to playing a crime character with films like “Pulp Fiction” and “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3” but maybe he will learn a few tips from Lindsay if she steals the role she has her eye on.
