Microsoft bought Skype which is a very popular internet phone and video chat service for $8.5 billion dollar. Microsoft outbid Google and also Facebook which wanted to acquired this service too.
Officials from Microsoft said that they plan to integrate Skype into their XBOX, Windows Phone and Outlook.
3 people are dead after a shooting at San Jose State University California which occurred around 8:00PM on Tuesday May 10th. The shooting occurred in the campus parking garage of the university. The school police responded to a report of possible shooting and when they arrived to the place of the shooting they found 2 people dead and a third person who died later at the hospital on the fifth floor of the university parking garage.
Officials said that San Jose State University had about 30,000 students and that the rest of campus was not in any type of danger. Also, Officials said that police did not believe that this incident was gang-related or robbery motivated.
Today Wednesday 11, 2011 an earthquake in the southern region of Spain caused the dead of seven people and dozens were injured officials said.
The magnitude of this earthquake was of 5.3 which occurred ate 4:47PM (Spain) 10:47AM (US). Also, the earthquake was centered 50 kilometers 31 miles southwest of Murcia which is big state of Spain near the Mediterranean Coasts and 218 miles southeast of the capital which is Madrid.
The earthquake was preceded by another of 4.5 magnitudes in the same area.
President Obama called Congress on Tuesday to pass the legislation that would rebuild the nation’s immigration system. President Obama noted that some of the biggest companies were founded by immigrant like Intel, Google, Yahoo and eBay. he said that we don’t want the next Google, or Intel to be created in another country that we want jobs and companies to take root in America.
Now we need Congress to catch up and come together to build a reform that reflects our values as a nation of laws and a nation of immigrants, he said. Obama called on Congress to pass the DREAM Act, which will provide legal status for college students and others who enter the country as children. Obama end it saying ” we are going to keep fighting for the DREAM Act , we will fight for the reform.”
