Steve Jobs Steps Down as Apple’s CEO, Also May Leave Disney

Steve Jobs, one of the founders of Apple and Pixar, has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of Apple. Do you think this decision will impact the wave of success Apple has ensued? The replacement CEO definitely has big shoes to fill and hopefully can follow in the shadow of his predecessor.

It is not feasible to believe the acting CEO Tim Cook will emulate Jobs to a tee, but his performance expectations will remain high. Jobs is not completely departing from Apple instead he will act as Chairman to the Board. Earlier this year Steve Jobs took a medical leave for the second time since 2009; he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003.

One Day Movie Review

One Day directed by Lone Scherfig came out this past weekend and made out pretty well in my book. It is a lighthearted romantic comedy with a touch of drama and a bad attempt at a particular English accent.  While a lot of the movie seemed somewhat predictable, the romance involved with the actual story overcame any sort of typicality that I’ve already formed in my head thanks to the big catalog of romantic comedies created up until this day.  While the only real disappointment was the cliché-ness of best friends bouncing back and forth between being in love, Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess had really decent chemistry.

While Hathaway’s accent lacked a bit, her charm matched perfect with the more mature and levelheaded half of the duo.  Sturgess also did well as the opposite, lost and egotistical.  But besides the difficult aspects in life that are altering, both characters always found a way back to each other and it always centered around one specific day a year. I enjoyed the movie, with minor disappointments but nothing too damaging to the romance and general point of the story.
