Want an iPhone but are reluctant to switch carriers and risk getting spotty reception? Well if you’re with Sprint the wait may soon be over. The
Wall Street Journal reports that starting this October, Sprint will be the next carrier in the U.S. to get the new version of the much-heralded smartphone. Considering the WSJ was the first to announce Apple’s arrival on Verizon, it’s safe to say that come October, Sprint customers will be able to jump on the iPhone bandwagon.
The real draw of the iPhone on Sprint is that, unlike Verizon and AT&T, Sprint is currently the only carrier in the U.S. to have true 4G service via WiMax.
The iPhone 5, while still mainly a mystery, is expected to be thinner, lighter, and faster than the current iPhone, while sporting an improved digital camera and Apple’s upcoming iOS 5 operating system.
