Breastaurant: The Evolution of the Restaurant Business

Within recent years, restaurants have upgraded their business by showing off their greatest assets: their waitresses. These male-oriented restaurants are known as “Breastaurants,” and feature women wearing revealing and skimpy uniforms. According to Entrepreneur magazine, they have emerged as one of the fastest-growing restaurant categories and are continuing to grow. The most familiar breastaurant, Hooters, has recorded that their sales net $1 billion annually and are maintaining to increase. You may ask what the big hype is about. Well, what man can resist cold beer, good food, sports, and a cute waitress?

Hooters opened their first restaurant in 1983 and currently have 460 locations across the United States. Many restaurants have followed their trend of selling on sex appeal, such as Titled Kilt and Pub Eatery and Brick House Tavern and Tap. These restaurants have been such a success even with the downfall of our economy. Consumers began cutting back on their dining budget in 2009, which has caused over 5,000 restaurants to shut down. However, breastaurants have managed to stay afloat and their waitresses are continuing to serve ice cold beer in short shorts and tight tops.
