Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway shared that he bought stock in satellite television service DirecTV, tech giant IBM, and chipmaker Intel Corp.

Buffett disclosed that he had bought 57 million shares of IBM, 9.3 million shares of Intel, and 4.2 million shares of DirecTV.  These are unusual investments for Buffet, who normally avoids technology stocks.

Berkshire Hathaway had $59.1 billion in common stock at the end of the third quarter.  This is up 12.9% from the $52.4 billion the company had three months earlier.

Berkshire Hathaway also has new holdings in Visa, with 2.3 million shares, 5.7 million shares in CVS, and 3.1 million shares in General Dynamics.

Syracuse University basketball assistant coach Bernie Fine is being investigated amongst allegations that he molested two former ballboys.

Bobby Davis, 39, accused Fine, 65, of molesting him beginning in 1983 when Davis had entered seventh grade.  Davis’ stepbrother, Mike Lang, 45, also claims he was molested around the same time.

Fine has called the accusations false and says he is confident the allegations will be discredited.  He is currently on administrative leave.

Syracuse police said they were reopening the investigation on charges that were first brought to them in 2003.  They were dismissed after four people who said they could corroborate Davis’ claims didn’t.

Fans and former Syracuse players are all showing their support for Fine.  Former player Eric Devendorf said the allegations seemed fishy to him, and Tim Welsh, a former Syracuse assistant from 1988-91, said he was surprised by the allegations.  He believes Bernie Fine to be an upstanding man.
