NSA Pleads for More Cyberwar Authority

The head of the National Security Agency (NSA) and Cyber Command, which organize the defense of US Military Defense,  met November 15, 2011 to discuss cyber networking.

The leaders plead was for a greater need for protection and defense of American networking.

In his opening speech, General Keith Alexander of the NSA attempted to explain the workings of the internet and what is it used for by giving numerous examples of other countries offensive capabilities.

One of these examples was the use of technology during World War II by the Germans, which led to the defeat of French and British forces.

Alexander also brought up the ‘Largest wealth transfer in history’, stating how 1 trillion dollars have been lost other countries stealing America’s intellectual property.

This speech from Alexander after the Pentagon released its newest policy on cyberwar, which is said to be its most explicit cyberwarfare policy to date.

Deputy Commander of Air Force Command, Lieutenant General Michael Basla, who is in charge of Air Force cyberwarfare, said that they will also be building the capabilities of their cyber offense.
