Is the Virgin Diaries Exploitative?

Thirty-one year-old Ryan and 27 year-old Shanna, are the stars of an upcoming TV special ‘Virgin Diaries.’

The couple vowed to save both their virginity and their first kiss until their wedding day, which is shown in the advertisement on TLC for the upcoming special, according to Nine Msn.

A preview from the upcoming special has become popular online; however the network has now been forced to defend its intentions with the special, saying that the show celebrates virginity.

“Gawk-fest” is one of the terms critics have used to describe the special and claims that its subjects “exploitation victims” will have viewer mocking, according to ABC News.

TLC Network’s west coast vice president, Timothy Kuryak, said the program was made due to its interesting subject matter.

“We want to document these people’s stories and why they make this decision,” said Kuryak, according to Nine Msn.

Kuryak expressed that the couple made their decision based on a religious choice, according to Nine Msn.

The special will appear in the US Sunday Night.

Twilight fans continue to sink their teeth into the new movie as fans start to fake engagements to get their chance to try on the famous Bella wedding dress from the new Twilight film, “Breaking Dawn,” according to TMZ.

The $799 replica is being sold in Alfred Angelo bridal boutiques everywhere, according to TMZ.

Workers at the boutique express that the fake engagements are driving them nuts due to the difficulty it causes them to conduct business.

‘National Sheriff of the Year’ Thrown into Jail Named After Him

While under surveillance, former Arapahoe County Sheriff, Pat Sullivan, was arrested after a drug task-force team caught him delivering methamphetamine to a man in Aurora, CO and expecting sex in return, according to The FW.

Sullivan is being held under $250,000 bond in the Patrick J. Sullivan Jr. Detention Facility, named after him.

A single charge of unlawful distribution, manufacturing, dispensing or sale of controlled substance has been placed against Sullivan, according to FW.

If Sullivan is found guilty he could face up to a maximum sentence of up to six years in prison.

Sullivan retired from the police force in 2002 after being the Denver-area county sheriff since 1984, according to The FW.

Sullivan was named the National Sheriff’s Associations Sheriff of the Year in 2001, according to The FW.
