A museum in Zagreb, Croatia sees its visitor rate double on Valentine’s Day.

That’s because the Museum of Broken Relationships displays testimonies of heartbreak, passion, and romance.

Some such mementos, which are collected from all over the globe, are such things like a garden gnome that was hurled at a car in anger after a breakup, a wedding dress from a marriage that ended in divorce, and an ax that smashed furniture.

Most of the mementos are really random and each item comes with the dates and location of the relationship it represents.  There’s also a note by their anonymous donors which discuss what the object represents to them.

The museum currently houses around 100 out of the 1,000 that have been collected.  It is also located right across from Zagreb’s City Hall where many couples are married.
