Facebook is accusing Yahoo of violating patents, which covers over 80% of the social network’s revenue, or $4 billion. Yahoo filed a similar lawsuit against Facebook on March 12th, claiming that Facebook violated 10 different patents.

Two months ago, Scott Thompson became Yahoo’s new chief executive, and has made the website more successful than ever. Facebook is also planning on going public in May, which has caused tension between the two web superpowers.

Other companies, such as Apple, Microsoft, and Research in Motion have all been involved in similar patent lawsuits over the past couple of months.
