Even though in the week of April 14 applications for unemployment insurance payments decreased, more American filed for jobless benefits than was expected.

The payments decreased by 2,000, to 386,000, but the number was still above the market expectation, which was 370,000.

Only 120,000 workers were hired in March, which was also lower than expected, even while the unemployment rate dropped to 8.2 percent.

However, they believe that there were some one-time factors that caused weakness in March, and that April will be better. There is hope that there will be job growth of over 200,000 a month for the rest of 2012.
