The New York Knicks will be missing one of their power forwards, Amar’e Stoudemire, after he punched the glass surrounding a fire extinguisher on Monday night. The Knicks had just lost their second playoff game to the Miami Heat in Miami’s home arena.

Stoudemire reportedly had a small muscle in his hand repaired, but suffered no damage in his tendon or ligament. The star basketball player left Miami’s arena wearing a sling following the incident, although he did not receive hospital treatment immediately.

On Tuesday, a Knicks spokesperson announced that Stoudemire would be out for Game 3 and possibly Game 4. Stoudemire did not comment on the incident, but did say he was angry at himself over Twitter.

Game 3 will be played on Thursday night at 7 pm in The Garden. If the Knicks lose, the team will set the record for the most playoff losses.
