The governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer, signed a bill that stops public funding to Planned Parenthood in the state. Planned Parenthood provides abortions, cancer screenings, birth control, vaccinations, health counseling, and sexual health education.

According to Gov. Brewer, she “stands with the majority of Americans who oppose the use of taxpayer funds for abortion.” Other states, such as Kansas, North Carolina, and Texas, have all passed similar legislation.

Planned Parenthood has spoken publicly about the law, saying that the health of thousands of people is at risk because of this new legislation.
