Ban on Soda Sparks Discussion Around the World

The mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, has proposed a ban on soft drinks larger than 16 oz. within the city’s limits. The ban would be in delis, restaurants, and movie theaters. Bloomberg hopes the limit on sugary drinks would help reduce the obesity rates.

Other countries, such as South Africa, agreed with Bloomberg in that the ban could help curb obesity and make Americans healthier.
