So far, summer 2012 has seen multiple box office hits with more projected successes to come.

Last weekend, “Snow White and the Huntsman” raked in $56.2 million on opening weekend. This comes after the successful debut of “Black Men 3” the weekend before, which landed at second place this past weekend. The third installment of the movie franchise earned over $111 million.

Also, wildly successful “The Avengers” is now the highest-grossing movie in the history of Walt Disney Studios. Its total earnings amount to approximately $1.355 billion, which is the third highest of all time.

The most recent movie with a promising start is “Prometheus”. Opening at 1,368 theaters, it has already taken in $3.56 million, which is twice the amount that “Snow White and the Huntsman” saw when it opened at midnight.

Another movie expected to make a splash this summer is “The Amazing Spider-Man” starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. It is expected to hit theaters July 3.
