Called Microsoft Surface, these tablets are not actually manufactured by Microsoft, but the company will be putting its name of the devices. This decision will set up Microsoft as a head-to-head competitor with its own PC maker partners.

As of yet, there is no information on pricing or availability. According to a press release on June 18, all officials are saying that “suggested retail pricing will be announced closer to availability and is expected to be competitive with a comparable ARM tablet or Intel Ultrabook-class PC. OEMs will have cost and feature parity on Windows 8 and Windows RT.”
