After 24-year-old Aimee Copeland fell while zip-lining leaving her with a gash in her leg, her life would never be the same

The beautiful Georgia girl battled a rare flesh-eating bacteria called necrotizing fasciitis causing her to lose her left leg, right foot and most of her hands.

However, after two months of fighting this horrible bacteria, Copeland finally gets to leave the hospital and take the next step in her life to recover from this as she was transferred to a rehabilitation center on Monday.

“She is very excited, like a kid going off to college,” said Copeland’s father in an interview with CNN.

Copeland’s sister, Paige, explained that her sister is just happy to be alive adding that she “relishes life” knowing that every day is a gift.

After going through such a hard and difficult time in her life, Copeland carries a mentality that all of us should remember that life is indeed a gift.
