A grandmother and her boyfriend have been arrested following a 13-month-old baby ingesting crack cocaine that was left out on their table.

The baby’s mother, 17, had brought her son into the Piedmont Newnan Hospital in central Georgia the night of July 21, after realizing he was not well.

Later in the day, hospital personnels informed the cops that they had found cocaine in the baby’s system.

At the time of the ingestion, the boy was in the care of his grandmother, Ebony Daniel, and her boyfriend, Charlie Martin.

Warrants were then issued for Daniel, 34, and Martin, 22.  Both were eventually charged with possession of cocaine, cruelty to children in the first degree and reckless conduct.

The boy’s mother was also in the house at the time of her son’s drug ingestion, but police are currently unaware of her role in the situation.

The baby has since been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
