Twilight actress Kristen Stewart and Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders have been caught in an affair.

Stewart, who starred as the titular character in Snow White and the Huntsman, is currently dating her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson, whom she met on the set of the vampire love story four years ago.  Sanders is married to actress-model Liberty Ross, with whom he has two young children.

According to a source, “Kristen is absolutely devastated.  It was a mistake and a complete lapse in judgment.”

The hookup between Stewart, 22, and Sanders, 41, occurred recently.

Since the scandal was outed by US Weekly on July 24, Stewart has released a statement.

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected.  This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob.  I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry,” Steward said.

Sanders has also released a statement.

“I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family.  My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world.  I love them with all my heart.  I am praying that we can get through this together,” Sanders said.

Both Ross and Pattinson, 26, have yet to address the affair publicly.
