Custody Tug-of-War for the Jackson Children Continues

Judge Mitch Beckloff temporarily stripped Katherine Jackson of her guardianship over the late King of Pop’s three, children Paris, Prince, and Prince Michael II (“Blanket”). Judge Beckloff rewarded guardianship to TJ Jackson, son of Tito Jackson and cousin to Paris, Prince, and Blanket, as their new legal guardian.

During an emergency guardianship hearing, Judge Beckloff said that he did not suspect Katherine for any wrongdoing, but stated that she was being blocked from carrying out her guardianship by unnamed third parties, suspected as siblings Randy, Janet, Jermaine, and Rebbie.

Michael’s mother and siblings appear to be at an ongoing battle for custody of the children, as Katherine’s lawyers and TJ report of suspicious behavior that may be the result of Katherine being held against her will by Michael’s other relatives.

Michael’s will gave Katherine custody of his children and a 20 percent stake in his massive estate, Katherine’s husband Joe Jackson as well as Michael’s eight surviving siblings were completely cut out.

The move to remove guardianship away from Katherine was supposedly supported by the children.

Judge Beckloff also ordered that the children not be removed from California without a court order and that backup guardian Diana Ross and biological mother of Paris and Prince, Debbie Rowe, also be informed of the order to keep the kids in California.

The temporary guardianship will be reviewed at a hearing scheduled for next month, where it is possible that the guardianship action will be reversed.

Popular recording artist Lady Gaga and her management company are currently involved in a $10m legal dispute with the makers of Bratz dolls.

MGM Entertainment, who recently filed legal papers saying that Gaga caused “deliberate” delays to the release of a Bratz doll made in her image, are in the process of suing the singer for breach of contract.

MGM claimed that the doll was scheduled to be in stores by Christmas, but was delayed at the urging of Gaga so that the toys’ emergence would coincide with the release of a new album in 2013.

The dolls had been expected to make roughly $28m in revenue for the 2012 Christmas retail season and agreements were in place for at least six distributors and 10 countries.

According to the breach of contract complaint lodged by MGM, the singer acted in “bad faith” through her withholding final approval for the doll.

Spokeswoman for Lady Gaga, Amanda Silverman, stated that the singer had not seen the complaint and had no comment.

“This is a dispute between Universal Music Group’s mechandising company and MGA,” Silverman said. “ There was no legitimate reasom for dragging Lady Gaga into that dispute”.
