Ross Levinsohn, the former interim CEO of Yahoo!, has decided to leave the Internet portal.

Levinsohn, who was snubbed once again to be the permanent leader of Yahoo!, announced the departure on July 30.

Just a few weeks ago, 37-year-old Marissa Mayer was named CEO of the company.  If she had been able to keep Levinsohn, it would have been a big triumph.

Levinsoh, 48, had been head of Yahoo!’s global media business and was passed over twice by the company’s board in favor of other top executives.  This included Scott Thompson, who had resigned in May over discrepancies on his resume.
