Willa Ford and retired NHL player Mike Modano have announced they are divorcing.
In a joint statement released through Ford’s rep, the couple said, “It it with great sadness that after five years of marriage, Willa and Mike have decided to divorce. They remain friends and wish each other success and happiness.”
Ford, 31, an actress, and Modano, 42, who retired from the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings last year, dated for four years prior to becoming engaged in 2006. The couple married at a private ranch in Athens, Texas the following year in front of 75 guests.
Ford, who had previously competed on season 3 of Dancing with the Stars, is currently appearing on the Starz show Magic City.
