Evelyn Lozado, wife of Chad Johnson, has filed for divorce after a domestic dispute.
The star of “Basketball Wives” turned in the legal papers on the afternoon of Aug. 14. She stated that her marriage with Johnson was “irretrievably broken.”
Johnson, who was recently know as Chad Ochocinco, was released from jail on $2,500 bond on Aug. 12 after Lozado accused the football player of head-butting her during an argument. The argument was fueled by a receipt for a box of condoms and cheating allegations. Johnson was charged with domestic battery, which is a misdemeanor.
One the same day of his arrest and release, the six-time Pro Bowl receiver was cut by the Miami Dolphins.
The couple, who were married on July 4, were scheduled to star on a reality TV show on VH1 about their marriage. The show has since been canceled, and their marriage, if terminated on Aug. 15, would have only lasted for 42 days.
