Sons of Anarchy actor Johnny Lewis was found dead in an apparent murder-suicide.
Lewis, 28, who played Kip “Half-Sack” Epps on the FX show and who once dated Katy Perry, was found lying in a driveway near Hollywood on Sept. 26. He fell to his death from a building.
A woman identified as Catherine Davis, who was his landlady, was found dead of blunt force trauma inside the building. She was 81 years old.
Police also found the body of a cat that had also been apparently beaten.
Lewis had just been released from jail only days before. He had pled no contest on Aug. 8 to assault with a deadly weapon, and on Aug. 17 plead no contest to burglary. He had been given a one year sentence for the first case and a 291 day one in the second, but Lewis was given hundreds of days credit for time already served and good behavior. On Sept. 21, he was let go from the San Fernando Valley jail.
Just five days later, officers responded to a 911 call of a woman screaming. She told them that Lewis had been fighting with two men and then died after a fall.
Police had concluded that Lewis killed Davis, and are not looking for any other suspects. There is currently no indication of what the motive was.
