Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj have been confirmed as the new judges for American Idol.

Fox announced on Sept. 16 that the country singer and the rapper would be joining previously announced Mariah Carey and returning Randy Jackson on the judge’s panel.  The confirmation of this settles months of speculation and rumor’s about who would join the show’s panel.  Previously mentioned stars included Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Nick Jonas.

Urban, 44, will be making $4 million for his role on the show, while Minaj, 29, is earning a reported $8 million.

The two are replacing recently departed judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, who exited the show after 2 seasons.
