Apple’s iCloud Storage Space Expired

On Sept. 30 iCloud users lost their free storage of 20GB, this will only affect iCloud users that have paid for the MobileMe service. MoblieMe cost $99 a year and orignially had 20GB of online storage space. For switching from just the free 5GB that is free storage provided by iCloud, when switching to MobileMe the user received 20GB on top of that. But, now Apple is taking back the free 20GB.

The service will now cost $40 a year for the 20GB of online storage space. Apple sent out an email to its users to either eliminate things held in their storage to 5GB or pay  the $40 to keep the 20GB before the expiration date. If the customer is looking for only 10GB it will cost $20 a year and for 50GB it will be $100. These prices being way more than what Microsoft charges for their storage space called Skydrive. A Skydrive user gets 7GB of free storage space, then $10 for 20GB and only $25 for 50GB.
