The Price is Right has hired their first male model.

Rob Wilson, a 24-year-old actor, beat out hundreds of other people to become the first male model in the show’s 40-year history..

“It’s been really exciting.  I’ve been getting calls all morning,” Wilson told PEOPLE.

The 6’-tall Boston-area native had attended an open call in Los Angeles before he was selected in an online reality series.  Wilson will appear on the CBS show for one week, starting Oct. 15.  If the gig works out, he may be hired for longer.

Prior to getting the Price is Right job, Wilson had worked in financial sales.  He then got a small role in Bride Wars, which prompted him to move to L.A.  He’s since been featured in music videos, print ads, and ABC Family’s Secret Life of An American Teenager.
