Gut check time for the Ravens. During Sundays game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Ravens lose two key core players on defense. First, Ladarious Webb collided with Cowboys receiver, Dez Bryant, injuring his right knee. The ravens later found out it was a torn ACL in his right knee. this is Webb second ACL tear,in his career. In 2009, Webb tore his ACL in left knee during his rookie campaign.
Another casualty occurred during Sundays game. After making his 14th tackle of the game, Ray Lewis runs over to sideline showing a great amount of discomfort favoring his right arm. Team doctors later say MRI results say Ray Lewis completely tore his right tricep, which sidelines him for the rest of the season and may very well end his career.
Over an amazing 17 year career,Lewis was named to 13 pro bowls, was named a super bowl MVP and a two-time defensive player of the year. Ray Lewis turns 38 in may so Sundays game may very well be his last. Lewis is a core player on the Ravens defense, lead the team in tackles and was a team leader in the huddle. This injury hurts any chances ravens have of making it to the Superbowl as they look to Courtney Upshaw a rookie from Alabama to step up in Lewis spot.
