Nafis Arrested for Attempting to Blow Up Federal Reserve in Manhattan

Quazi Mohammed Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis was arrested after plotting to blow up the Federal Reserve building in Manhattan. After much investigating the FBI arrested 21-year-old Nafis on Wednesday after his attempt to blow up a car bomb outside of the Federal Reserve building.

Before he began his plot he went to a warehouse to assemble a 1,000-pound bomb. He asked an undercover agent to record him saying, “We will not stop until we attain victory or martyrdom.” When police arrested him he had a cell phone that is speculated to be a detonator for the bomb. Police are looking for at least five other people who may have been working with Nafis, according to CBS News correspondent John Miller.

The plot never put anyone at risk, it instead showed what this man might’ve did if given the proper tools to create that bomb.

When appearing in a federal court in Brooklyn Nafis faced charged of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and attempting to provide material support to al Qaeda, which he reportedly has connections with.

Nafis was also interested in other locations such as the New York Stock Exchange.

His arrest was an effect of many months of thorough investigation on Nafis and his plots to, “destroy America”.
