T-Mobile chief executive officer John Lejere tweeted on Wednesday that he was “excited” for Apple’s iPad event coming this week. The tweet suggests that the telecom company may be granted access to the popular Apple device.
“What has two thumbs and is excited for October 22? #thisguy”
In the tweet, Legere attached the invite to the Apple event to be held in San Francisco. The invitations were sent out on Tuesday. Legere is known to be outspoken on social media outlets like Twitter and, while it is circumstantial, the tweet is somewhat revealing.
Last week, Legere also hinted at a free global raoming plan that was then announced later that day.
With the addition of the iPad, T-Mobile could have access to Apple’s full lineup of cellular-capable devices, making it the fourth-largest cellular carrier in the U.S. T-Mobile became an Apple partner carrier in April when it started sales of the iPhone 5.
