Miami Dolphins’ defensive end Dion Jordan will get a late start to the 2014 NFL season. Jordan was expected to have a breakout season, but that will not begin until the fifth game.

The Dolphins announced Thursday that the 3rd pick in the 2013 NFL Draft will be suspended four games for disobeying the league’s performance enhancing drug policy. “During the suspension, I will stay in top shape and be ready to contribute upon my return”, Jordan stated.

The Dolphins were expecting Jordan to have a large contribution this year. The Miami Herald reported in May that Jordan had bulked up to 265 pounds this off-season. Fans were excited to see Jordan breakout this year when he was paired with defensive end Cameron Wake.

Jordan will be allowed to participate in Dolphins’ training camp , but he will be barred from the team’s facility once the preseason ends. He will be eligible to return to the Dolphins’ active roster on September 29th.
