Germany Defeats Argentina in World Cup Final

In a very tough battle that remained scoreless in regulation time, Germany was able to pull out a victory against Argentina in the World Cup Final with a score of 1-0.

Both sides played tough and had many good shots, but both defenses would not let up.

Not until the 113th minute would Germany score.¬†Schweinsteiger centered the ball to¬†Mario Gotze who would then drill the ball into the goal with his left. The 22-year-old did not even start for Germany’s last three games.

For Argentina, it was too little, too late. The last play of the game was a free kick from Lionel Messi which sailed over the crossbar in the 123rd minute.

Colombia’s James Rodriguez was rewarded the Golden Boot as he scored 6 times throughout the World Cup.

The host for the next World Cup in 2018 will be Russia.
